NewsGuard 100/100 Score

NDS Surgical Imaging (NDSsi) today unveiled breakthrough wireless and visualization technologies for surgical and endoscopy suites, including the ZeroWire® wireless video solution, a 55” Radiance® multi-modality display with built-in ZeroWire technology, and a 24” EndoVue™ value line of single-modality displays. These products will be demonstrated for the first time at the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress (ACS 2009), NDSsi Booth #331, at McCormick Convention Center in Chicago from October 12 – 14, 2009.

With new techniques in medical imaging and High Definition (HD) video becoming a demand in surgery suites, surgeons and their staff need imaging content delivered reliably and accurately in order to achieve the best visualization results possible. These next generation products for surgical imaging are based on NDSsi’s vision of Medical Visualization Informatics (MVI) and attest to how the Company is continuing to enable new clinical imaging solutions and fueling collaborative medicine.

With complete visualization benefits for the surgical suite, NDSsi’s latest product developments include:

ZeroWire

ZeroWire is NDSsi’s medical grade HD wireless video technology that is customized to meet the video transmission challenges of the operating room. This product is currently in development and is being designed to provide robust, reliable communication with ultra-low latency and excellent image quality required for today’s multi-modality imaging environments. This wireless system, made especially for the OR, is being developed to facilitate faster turn-around time by eliminating down-time from disconnected or damaged cables and by reducing the cleaning time between procedures. ZeroWire is not currently available for sale in the United States.

Radiance 55” Full MMI ZW

The Radiance 55” Full MMI ZW features a 240 Hz refresh rate for ultra-smooth motion when viewing surgical video, an environmentally-friendly high-bright LED backlight and Full Multi-Modality Imaging capabilities for viewing two image sources simultaneously. As the most advanced HD visualization system available today for minimally invasive surgery and interventional procedures, this is NDSsi’s greenest display on the market. To help reduce negative effects on the environment, this display features low power, a mercury-free backlight, easy disposal, and fanless operation appropriate for the surgical suite. Additionally, this new offering will be able to accommodate NDSsi’s wireless video technology, ZeroWire, as an embedded video receiver.

EndoVue 24”

NDSsi has developed a value segment product line for its existing EndoVue display offering. As new surgical markets emerge, NDSsi has responded with a high quality, low-cost solution for these new environments. The 24” EndoVue is a widescreen, single-modality solution that is offered as an affordable alternative to a full-featured surgical display but still accommodates HD signals from a variety of medical imaging sources, including endoscopes, ultrasound, PACS, and vital signs. It is lightweight, making installation on a surgical cart or boom effortless.

“Enhancement of our core EndoVue visualization system to provide a larger size screen resulted in a low-cost solution for the single-modality display market that doesn’t compromise the HD imaging needed in a minimally invasive surgical environment,” said Jens Ruppert, Vice President of Product Management at NDSsi. “In addition, our development of a wireless technology that provides reliable, secure, and clear imaging content is proof that our latest innovations are simple and efficient ways to deliver the best quality images in real-time. We are very pleased with all of our new product developments that will greatly benefit surgical environments everywhere.”
