Teradata Corporation (NYSE: TDC), the world's largest company solely focused on data warehousing and enterprise analytics, and Claraview, a leading business intelligence strategy and technology consultancy, today announce the availability of Teradata Accelerate for Healthcare. The new packaged solution bundles Claraview's Provider Analytics software and services portfolio with the Teradata database, Teradata Healthcare Logical Data Model, and the Teradata platform family.

The Accelerate for Healthcare portfolio is a suite of analytical reporting solutions for healthcare providers with seven software and services reporting modules: Financial, Claims, Clinical, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality of Care, and Marketing Effectiveness. With seven modules, providers can select the solution that meets the greatest business need - and then follow on with other modules in order of priority. The modular approach can help fit the business investment budget with quick demonstrations of returns on that investment - to support next-step implementations.

"This portfolio is being introduced at exactly the right time - when data integration, data visibility, and analytics are significant IT issues in the health care industry, and together, the Teradata-Claraview portfolio can very effectively address them all," said John Burke, vice president, global healthcare industry solutions, Teradata. "Teradata Accelerate for Healthcare will give providers more complete visibility to all relevant detailed data needed to identify cost, quality and revenue drivers while ensuring that the very best quality of data gets to the right professional at the right moment."

Research has shown that the typical hospital has over 350 operational systems in place. In order to meet current and future regulatory requirements, including proving the "meaningful use" of their EMR systems, they must be able to quickly gather, integrate, and understand data across many of these systems. Teradata's recommended Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) approach enables the broad consolidation of data from all sources, and the Accelerate packages ensure an end-to-end solution of bundled hardware, intellectual property, and services to quickly bring hospitals to a full EDW and reporting model. With today's growing focus on improving the quality of information and reducing costs, the demand for centralized, readily accessible enterprise-class information is becoming more critical.

In addition, core industry initiatives, such as consumer-driven health care (Personal Health Records), integration of electronic health records (EHR) and Pay-for-Performance underscore the industry-wide shift from being transaction-based to consumer-centric and increasingly require collective cross-organizational, integrated intelligence.
