Regional Medical Center Anniston to implement Wolters Kluwer Health's ProVation MD software

Published on October 27, 2009 at 10:16 AM · No Comments

Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today that Regional Medical Center Anniston has selected its ProVation® MD software for Cardiology procedure documentation and coding. The Anniston, AL-based hospital will use the software to document and code cases at its three cardiac catheterization labs.

ProVation® MD software for procedure documentation and coding compliance replaces dictation/transcription and streamlines the coding and billing process. Unlike Cardiovascular Information Systems (CVIS), which collect patient measurements and administrative data, ProVation MD lets clinicians quickly and completely document medical procedures at the point of care, then applies the appropriate reimbursement codes to drive compliance and revenue recovery. ProVation MD interfaces with cardiovascular nursing, imaging and measurement systems to complete the electronic documentation process and free busy cardiologists and technologists from time-consuming dictation.

Regional Medical Center Anniston (RMC) is the first hospital in Northeast Alabama to be approved by the Commission on Cancer, to develop a fully operational cardiovascular surgical team and to house equipment like the digital Varian Acuity Simulator for treatment planning. A 336-licensed bed facility, RMC is a Joint Commission-accredited facility serving over 250,000 citizens its local region. Over 185 physicians, representing most major specialties, comprise the hospital’s medical staff.

“RMC has shown a strong commitment to medical leadership through its investment in advanced technology to help diagnose, treat and serve its patients,” said Arvind Subramanian, CEO, Wolters Kluwer Health Clinical Solutions division. “We are pleased that they have selected ProVation MD software, which streamlines the documentation workflow for cardiologists, removes administrative costs and burdens, and drives revenue recovery through complete, compliant coding.”
