As part of its initiative to develop the intellectual property for new, unique health and safety products available for global distribution, American Scientific Resources, Inc. (the "Company" or "ASR") (Pink Sheets: ASFX) today announced the launch of a new line of affordable, revolutionary, 5-in-1 non-contact thermometers specifically designed to meet the needs of consumers and healthcare workers around the globe.

By utilizing the latest technological innovations, in managements' opinion, ASR was able to make this new device affordable for the consumer, as accurate as most trusted thermometers, and easy-to-use for a touch-less, instant temperature reading.

Hence, ASR believes that the new thermometer provides a multitude of solutions and fulfills significant needs for the modern day parent or health care provider to include:

  • Affordability
  • Quick results, enabling immediate care
  • Time saver for large groups
  • Trusted clinical approval for accuracy
  • The ability to take a trauma-free, non-invasive temperature
  • Completely hygienic
  • Back-lit display to be seen in dark when the patient is sleeping
  • Saving commercial facilities an inordinate amount of money by not having additional expenses associated with other thermometers (ex. Probe covers, disinfection methods)

"The Company continues to achieve milestones as an owner and developer of new intellectual property. This is a significant event for our company, having come a long way from distributor to now owner and manufacturer of medical devices globally," stated Dr. Christopher F. Tirotta, CEO of American Scientific Resources, Inc.

He continues, "Our primary focus was to include the most innovative technology in these thermometers. Through much due diligence, we believe to have developed the best, affordable 5-in-1 non contact thermometer for the market."

The new thermometers will be partially manufactured in China at the Company's overseas location, with final sub-component assembly and packaging occurring at ASR's Ohio and Florida facilities.

Jason M. Roth, Senior Vice President and Director of Business Development, stated, "We have been working diligently on creating and securing multiple global distribution partners for the new thermometer. Since the thermometer has an attractive price, the goal is to enable numerous suppliers worldwide to be able to fill the demand in the marketplace."

Production of the consumer model is scheduled to commence in February 2010 with, in managements' estimation, full production capability exceeding 5000 units per day. The new Kidz-Med 5-in-1 Non-Contact consumer model is expected to have an MSRP of $49.95 domestically and nearly $80.00 in overseas markets. Private label and other branded versions are currently being marketed to large retailers, global distributors and healthcare providers. The thermometer is expected to be available for purchase in Q3 2010.
