Gilbert Hospital continued to exceed expectations in 2009. With more than 43,190 patient visits through the emergency department, patient levels remained constant compared to 2008. Gilbert Hospital's much promoted "Door to Doc in 31 Minutes" continued its success with more than 98.5% of emergency room visits beginning treatment by a Board certified physician within 31 minutes of arrival. Additionally, the average wait time in 2009 at Gilbert Hospital's emergency department was only 7 minutes and 25 seconds.

Gilbert Hospital continued quick, compassionate care to patients from all over the valley and other states, especially over the winter months. H1N1 proved to be a concern, but Gilbert Hospital was and remains prepared for any pandemic that may occur. With additional procedures in place, Gilbert Hospital remains one of the best choices for hospital care in the southeast valley.
