Warner Bros recording artist to donate concert profits to BC Children's Hospital

Warner Bros. recording artist Michael Bublé announced during his August 20 concert in his hometown that all profits from the show would go to BC Children's Hospital Foundation's Campaign for BC Children, a $200-million initiative to support the construction of a new BC Children's Hospital and to enhance medical services for children throughout the province.

"They are really inspirational people, and the doctors and nurses who care for them are amazing," said Bublé. "But, when you're in the hospital, you can really understand the need for a new building."

A supporter of BC Children's Hospital for many years, Bublé has made frequent quiet visits to meet with young patients and their families. In 2008 he took on the role of Ambassador to the Campaign for BC Children and performed for over 800 people at the Bublé Gala, which raised over $2.2 million for the campaign. In addition, he has participated in public service announcements for the hospital and has lent his songs Home and Everything to the campaign.

The Vancouver show wrapped up his sold-out 12-date Canadian concert tour in support of the triple platinum album, Crazy Love. Over the course of three weeks Bublé has played in front of more than 150,000 Canadian fans garnering rave reviews from critics and fans alike.

"Michael Bublé has been more than willing to do what he can to both help us raise money for a new hospital, and to help children and their families feel better while they are at BC Children's," said Don Lindsay, president and CEO of Teck Resources Limited and chair of the Campaign for BC Children. "It's pretty clear to us that this comes from his heart. He cares deeply about BC's children."
