Quantum Health on HIRC's list of leading disease management organizations

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

Quantum Health proves bigger isn't better (and small can be mighty) by making the Health Industry Research Companies' (HIRC) list of leading disease management organizations. According to HIRC's Fall 2010 report on Health and Disease Management Service, size was – until recently – a primary factor for making the list. Not anymore. Now, organizations must obtain auditor's letters from respected third parties to vouch for the validity of their outcomes.

Quantum Health is one of just seven companies to meet this new, highly stringent quality standard.

In the same report, HIRC also recognized Quantum Health's Coordinated Health/Care™ solution as a Leading Employer/Third Party Administrators (TPA) Disease Management Program. Of the eight self-insured employers cited by HIRC as having a leading employer/TPA disease management program, two are Quantum Health clients: City of Savannah and Oshkosh Corporation.

Beth Robinson, Human Resources Director at the City of Savannah, GA, appreciates the value Quantum Health delivers, "Since implementing the Quantum Health program in 2007, our claims trend is essentially flat... and that's a drop of more than 10 points from where it had been in the past.  We're proud that we have saved the taxpayers of the city of Savannah millions of dollars over that time through effective case management, high touch care coordination and successfully engaging more employees in managing their health."

Michael Chilen, Senior Director of Global Compensation, Benefits and International Services at Oshkosh says, "Four years ago, we replaced our major carrier's program with Quantum Health in a few divisions. In the Quantum Health divisions, our trend dropped from mid-double digits to 4.5% while our other divisions remained in the mid-double digits, so this year we are expanding the program to other business units."

"It's worth noting that this recognition is based on strict standards and valid metrics rather than on anecdotal and/or highly questionable ROI claims," remarks Quantum Health's founder and CEO Kara Trott.  "And while disease management is just one piece of our comprehensive solution, we're thrilled, though not surprised, that our programs demonstrate such favorable results for our clients in this particular area."

"Bottom line," adds Trott, "we love helping our clients get the most out of their health benefits investment. Being identified by HIRC's HMO panelists and the Disease Management Purchasing Consortium (DMPC) for our reputation and our ability to achieve expected outcomes is simply icing on the cake."
