The University of Freiburg is extending its communicative bounds with a brand new science portal, Surprising Science. Starting today, the university will regularly present exciting new research findings at www.surprising-science.de, some of them in multimedia form. The site will also provide comprehensive background information and news from daily life at the university.

In addition to reports on individual research projects from various disciplines, journalists and representatives from political and social organizations will find special information packages on selected themes. From analysis of dust particles in the atmosphere to research on aging or language changes brought about by social media: The specials on Surprising Science illustrate how researchers at the University of Freiburg are examining topics with great relevance for our society from diverse perspectives.

All background texts, pictures, and even audio and video sequences can be accessed atwww.surprising-science.de and used free of charge for articles or multimedia features. Surprising Science can also put clients into contact with the researchers or supply additional material.
