G&D, Precise Biometrics partner to provide Match-on-Card technology

Precise Biometrics announces that they have entered into a partnership agreement with Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) that will provide Precise Match-on-Card™ technology for use on G&D smart-cards. The agreement enables the two companies to provide leading smart card and on-card fingerprint comparison technology while quickly responding to customer needs.

G&D, one of the world's leading providers of smart-card solutions, and Match-on-Card industry leader Precise Biometrics have entered into a partnership agreement which enables G&D to use Precise Match-on-Card technology on its smart-cards. The card's chip contains the cardholder's fingerprints, enabling them to be securely identified so their information cannot be stolen or used by other individuals. Precise Match‑on‑Card enables the fingerprint to be stored on the card and securely matches the fingerprint directly on the card itself. This biometric verification greatly reduces fraud as well as protects personal data.

The Precise Biometrics solution has a track record of successful implementations, with its Precise Match-on-Card which has been chosen for six national ID projects including Nigeria, Portugal, Qatar, Bahrain, Thailand, and Venezuela. It is also used on physical access control credentials and employee ID cards in both the private and public sectors.

Precise Biometrics' CEO Thomas Marschall said, "With its proven success, Precise Match-on-Card continues to be a top choice for market leaders such as G&D." He continued, "Our partnership with G&D will enable both companies to respond quickly to customer needs, while at the same time offering those looking for on-card comparison an industry-leading choice. We are confident that we together with G&D will win more projects around the world where Match-on-Card has been specified as a project requirement."
