Capsule to feature IHE-compliant connectivity solution at HIMSS12 Interoperability Showcase

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

Capsule Tech, Inc., the leading provider of medical device connectivity, announced its successful participation at the IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) North America Connectathon that was held earlier this year in Chicago. Following this year's Connectathon, Capsule will be featured at the Interoperability Showcase during the HIMSS12 Annual Conference & Exposition from February 20-24, 2012 in Las Vegas for the fifth year in a row.

“Capsule is yet again proud to announce that we have successfully tested our Enterprise Device Connectivity Solution with participating patient-care device and EMR vendors at the IHE Connectathon”

The IHE Connectathon is designed to validate interoperability with patient care devices and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) vendors using a series of structured tests to verify conformance to the IHE Patient Care Device (PCD) profiles. These standards-based profiles are designed to ensure reliable interoperability between supporting systems without vendor-specific customization. Successful completion of the tests is required in order for vendors to participate in the Interoperability Showcase at HIMSS12. Capsule was tested against 28 vendors and 33 systems that participated in PCD.

"Capsule is yet again proud to announce that we have successfully tested our Enterprise Device Connectivity Solution with participating patient-care device and EMR vendors at the IHE Connectathon," said Brian McAlpine, Director of Strategic Products at Capsule. "Capsule continues to be the leading medical device connectivity provider having proven interoperability with the widest range of IHE PCD-conforming devices and EMR and alarm notification system vendors."

Capsule will be showcasing its IHE-compliant connectivity solution at the HIMSS12 Interoperability Showcase at Booth #11000 during show hours. Capsule encourages attendees to visit and learn how it successfully connected to key vendors at the Connectathon using PCD profiles and how Capsule's solution can make any medical device or enterprise system IHE compatible.
