Family Preservation Services (FPS) of North Carolina, Inc., a leading provider of mental health services for at-risk and disadvantaged youth and adults with severe and persistent mental illness, today announced it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Psych Support Inc., a Raleigh-based Critical Access Behavioral Health Agency (CABHA). The acquisition of Psych Support will expand FPS's mental health service offerings in Wake County and into Wilson and Johnston Counties. Psych Support, founded in 2003, provides enhanced mental health services, including intensive services for adults with severe and persistent mental illness.

"Psych Support is a highly regarded CABHA provider in the Triangle area and will afford FPS the opportunity to expand its quality services in that area," said Cindy Davis-Bryant, FPS State Executive Director in North Carolina.

Ms. Davis-Bryant is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has worked for FPS of North Carolina since April 2008 and been its State Executive Director since December 2010. She currently serves on the Benchmarks Board of Trustees and was recently elected to Vice Chairperson with over 20 years experience in mental health in Tennessee, Alabama, Alaska and North Carolina.

"This acquisition provides FPS with an expansion of services into the adult continuum and helps us grow our service offering in an area with high levels of need," said Gene Rodgers, State Director of Strategic Development who joined FPS in December 2011. "We will continue to look for opportunities that fit our expertise in delivering best practices and efficient, outcome based services in our current markets as well as opportunities in new markets within North Carolina."
