New liquid urine control available from Randox

The new Randox Acusera liquid urine control is designed to be both easy and convenient for laboratory staff to use. The inclusion of fully assayed target values for 18 commonly performed urine chemistry tests including Microalbumin and hCG enables consolidation and ultimately cost savings.

The liquid stable format of the control eliminates the need for reconstitution whilst reducing the amount of human handling and the subsequent risk of pipetting errors. The material can also be economically shipped and stored at 2-8oC.

Like many Randox controls the material is manufactured from 100% human urine not only providing a matrix similar to the patient sample but also reducing antibody interference and the possibility of control values shifting after reagent batch is changed. A 10ml vial size and an open vial stability of 30 days at +2-8oC for all parameters ensures both waste and most importantly costs are kept to a minimum.

As a true third party control laboratories can expect an unbiased, independent assessment of analytical performance. Instrument specific target values and ranges are even provided for many common clinical chemistry analysers including;

  • Abbott Architect
  • Beckman Coulter AU400/500/600/800 systems
  • Beckman Coulter CX4/5/7/9/LX20/DxC600/800 systems
  • Cobas Integra
  • Hitachi series
  • Ortho Vitros
  • Siemens Advia 1200/1650/2400 systems
  • Siemens Dimension Rx/Max/Xpand systems

The Randox Acusera liquid urine control is compatible for use with Acusera 24.7, our new web based inter-laboratory data management programme. With 24-7 users benefit from our extensive range of data management tools and gain access to worldwide peer group data. Acusera 24.7 uniquely updates peer group data every 24 hours giving laboratories access to the most up to date information available.
