CareView Communications, Inc. ("CareView" or the "Company") (OTCQB:CRVW), an information technology provider to the healthcare industry, announced today the introduction of its new CareView Connect™ Patient Monitoring and Communications module ("CareView Connect"). CareView Connect allows hospital staff to easily and effectively view, communicate with and manage patients in real-time from an integrated hand-held mobile device. CareView Connect's mobile monitoring application allows nursing staff to access the tools provided on the CareView System® to monitor their patients and respond to alarms and alerts for specific patient care to increase patient safety and decrease falls. Successful beta testing of CareView Connect in numerous CareView-driven hospitals found a greater reduction in patient falls when compared to using CareView's Fall Management Program without the mobile application.
CareView Connect also allows for secure voice, text and email communications with staff located anywhere in the hospital. Through integration with the hospital's phone system, users can also place calls to the patient's physician or other caregivers, speeding up the delivery of care and improving quality. CareView Connect became available to all CareView customers on February 1, 2014.
CareView Connect interfaces seamlessly with all components of the CareView System specifically including Virtual Bed Rails®, Virtual Chair Rails™, and CareView's fall management and ulcer management tools. A notifications feature allows for incoming voice and text communications and alarms and alerts from the CareView System as well as third party systems. It includes a smart hospital directory allowing users an easy way to locate staff or patients within each department or room within the facility. CareView Connect provides secure individual and group texting and voice paging and messaging. Designed to be HIPAA-compliant, no information is stored on the CareView Connect mobile device and data is encrypted while in transit within a CareView-driven facility.
The CareView Connect mobile application is currently available for Android with an Apple iOS application coming soon.
The Company will showcase the CareView Connect mobile application later this month at the Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2014 conference to be held February 23-26 in Orlando.
