Comba Telecom Inc., a leading wireless solutions provider, announced it has successfully completed the implementation of a turnkey 3G and 4G LTE wireless solution for a hospital located in Indiana. At the core of the wireless solution is Comba Telecom's ComFlex DAS -- a multi-operator, mixed-mode RF-over-fiber product, officially launched at the CTIA Super Mobility Week 2014 event running in Las Vegas.

Working closely with its system integrator partners, Comba Telecom carefully designed and installed and tested an indoor distributed antenna system ("DAS") to enable 3G and 4G LTE service coverage at the hospital without causing radio interference with medical equipment at the hospital. The system includes the Comba mBDA Digital Band Selective Repeater to amplify weak RF signals from a remotely-located cellular base station. ComFlex DAS master and remote units then distributes radio frequency ("RF") signals to antennas placed throughout the hospital, thereby enabling ubiquitous network availability.

Mr. Augustin Chang, head of Comba Telecom North America, said, "We are very pleased with the performance and customer feedback on our wireless solution. Prior to our solution installation, the hospital has close-to-zero cellular coverage. It is now equipped with 3G and 4G network services, and patients and employees are now assured of a reliable high speed, high capacity voice and data experience on their wireless devices."

At the core of the solution is Comba Telecom's ComFlex DAS -- a RF over fiber solution that enhances wireless network coverage by extending cellular services from existing cell sites to an indoor environment. The system consists of the master Unit ("MU") and remote unit ("RU"). The MU includes the chassis, power supply unit, fiber optical unit and RF unit. With a modular design, it can support up to 8 independent RF inputs and 8 RUs. The RU is designed with a compact and slim form factor for easy installation; it is an integrated design which supports 6 independent bands: 700MHz (lower ABC), 700MHz (upper C), 800MHz, 850MHz, 1900MHz, and AWS band.

Mr. Simon Yeung, President of Comba Telecom International said, "We are pleased to officially launch the ComFlex DAS Series for the North American markets. It is specifically designed and rigorously tested to ensure compatibility with the local systems and bands. In fact, prior to its major deployment at the hospital, the ComFlex DAS series had been extensively used in field trials throughout the region where it had performed admirably well . I can think of no better venue to officially unveil it at the CTIA Super Mobility Week 2014 -- one the North America's and the world's premier wireless events."
