Agfa HealthCare announced today that Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), a teaching hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School located in Boston Mass., installed several of Agfa HealthCare's direct radiography (DR) technologies to update their inpatient and outpatient facilities.   The eight DX-D 100 mobile DR systems and eight DX-D 600 fully automated DR rooms replace previous technologies.

The eight DX-D 100 mobile DR systems are being used in the emergency department, operating rooms, and intensive care units for mobile bedside imaging. The direct capture enables the image to be presented upon exposure.

The eight DX-D 600 X-ray rooms are fully motorized and include a high flexibility, auto-tracking ceiling-suspended positioning device for utmost positioning comfort and productivity. Currently, the DR suites are used for a wide variety of imaging exams including chest, abdomen, spine and extremity work for both inpatient and ambulatory care.

"Massachusetts General Hospital is a longtime user of Agfa HealthCare's CR systems. They selected Agfa HealthCare's  DR systems because of the outstanding image quality our digital solutions deliver with MUSICA image processing and the productivity improvements they offer with Agfa HealthCare's acquisition workstation," said Ueli Laupper, DR Business Director, Agfa HealthCare North America.

We are very pleased to expand our relationship with one of the most prestigious healthcare facilities in the U.S.  They are pioneers and leaders in the field of patient care, and we look forward to their guidance as we continue to develop new technologies and systems to aid their efforts in providing excellent care.
