Under the arrangement, CarePoint and Shiel will provide outreach laboratory testing services to physicians, nursing homes and other providers within the CarePoint Health System and beyond.
This new partnership with Shiel complements CarePoint Health's efforts to implement clinical and business best practices across its network of providers by ensuring a continuity of quality care. Further, it enables CarePoint Health to remain competitive as an agile health system. Shiel brings a team of experienced sales, laboratory, and information technology professionals to collaborate with CarePoint Health to explore all opportunities in the Northern New Jersey market, continually evolve operational efficiencies, care coordination and ultimately offer the highest quality patient care.
In partnering with Shiel, CarePoint Health is able to offer enhanced laboratory outpatient services to its network of physician practices.

In addition to clinical services being offered by Shiel, it will also support the CarePoint Health network with an array of operational support services. The Shiel interoperability team will provide comprehensive EHR connectivity for all physician offices in the CarePoint Health network, as well as connect to CarePoint Health's laboratory information system.
