Burton-on-Trent software developer BookWise Solutions has secured another contract, to provide its services to The Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre, Harrogate.

Part of the Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust, the centre is now operating the very latest version of the BookWise specialist scheduling software that it helped develop. Introduction of the new software at the Trust is enabling patient appointments to be quickly allocated to the appropriate clinical staff, improving efficiency, reducing costs and ensuring patient appointments run on time.

BookWise’s managing director Denise Williamson said:

This is excellent news for The Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre and the team at BookWise. Having worked closely with us in developing the latest version of our scheduling software the centre’s staff are fully aware of the benefits it will bring to their organisation and ultimately its patients. Nursing staff will be pleased to witness increased capacity management and more chairs becoming available.

BookWise started providing packages to the NHS and corporate sectors in 2001 and its products and support services are in use across the NHS and at sites in Australia.

Tricia Feber nurse consultant and lead chemotherapy nurse said:

BookWise has been invaluable since it’s introduction. Efficiency has increased and the booking process runs very smoothly, bringing improvements to staff working conditions and the care pathway.

The software has some excellent features that save us a great deal of time and enable staff resources to be diverted to where they are needed most.
