Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, today reinforced its ongoing commitment to help its customers accelerate innovation and enhance productivity. At Analytica the company will showcase new products across its instrument, consumables, software and services portfolio that make advanced analysis more accessible to customers in applied markets. Attendees can experience the company’s depth of capabilities in Hall 1, Booth 101 at the Messe Munchen May 10-13, 2016 during the 25th International Trade Fair for Laboratory Technology, Analysis and Biotechnology and analytica conference.

“In today’s competitive environment, we bring together an exceptional combination of products and services – drawing from our depth of capabilities – to help our customers solve their most difficult challenges,” said Dan Shine, president, analytical instruments for Thermo Fisher Scientific. “As the largest industry gathering of its kind, Analytica provides us with an opportunity to demonstrate our scale and depth to provide customers with our advanced analytical techniques.”

Building a Chromatography Powerhouse

For more than 40 years, Thermo Fisher has been a leader in the global ion chromatography (IC) market. In 2016, the company introduced the Thermo Scientific Dionex Integrion High-Pressure Ion Chromatography (HPIC) system, providing functionality previously available only in our higher-end instruments. The Dionex Integrion HPIC system provides exceptional flexibility and ease-of-use for the analysis of water, food and beverages, biofuels and pharmaceuticals.

Also new at Analytica is the Thermo Scientific Q Exactive GC Orbitrap GC-MS/MS, which brings the power of Orbitrap mass spectrometry to customers working in food safety, forensic toxicology and sports doping applications. This breakthrough gas chromatography (GC) hybrid quadrupole system allows comprehensive characterization of samples in a single run for accurate results in compound discovery, identification and quantitation.

Analytica’s Live Lab features industry experts who will report on and demonstrate the latest developments in food analysis. Thermo Fisher will conduct hands-on demonstrations on pesticides analysis using our latest innovations and technologies across the entire pesticides workflow, including the Thermo Scientific Q Exactive Focus hybrid quadrupole-Orbitrap mass spectrometer. These solutions are designed to help customers increase productivity and reduce overall cost when performing this demanding application.

The increasing use of analytical technologies in applied markets generates significant amounts of data. To help customers transform data into knowledge, Thermo Fisher launched updated versions of its market-leading software, including Thermo Scientific Dionex Chromeleon Chromatography Data System (CDS) software, Thermo Scientific Watson LIMS and Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS.

Delivering Value for Biopharma Customers

To fuel new drug pipelines, biopharmaceutical laboratories are focused on maximizing productivity and minimizing costs. Thermo Fisher continues to expand its capabilities across the biopharma workflow, from drug discovery to QA/QC, with several new products being introduced at Analytica. For sample preparation, the new Thermo Scientific NanoDrop One microvolume UV-Vis spectrophotometer features Thermo Scientific Acclaro sample intelligence technology engineered to deliver accurate sample quantitation and excellent productivity.

For high-throughput analyses, biotherapeutic characterization and pharmaceutical quality control, the new Thermo Scientific Vanquish Flex UHPLC system is designed to set new benchmarks for separation accuracy, precision and sensitivity. And the new Thermo Scientific iCAP RQ ICP-MS spectrometer is designed for accurate performance, ease-of-use and flexibility in a variety of highly regulated applications, including pharmaceutical testing.

Enhancing Productivity with Sustainable Lab Practices

Laboratories are often a primary waste generator, using a significant amount energy, chemicals and water. To create a more sustainable lab environment, customers are increasingly installing equipment that consumes less energy, more closely managing the use of chemicals and consumables, and choosing products designed to have less impact on the environment.

To help customers meet their sustainability goals, Thermo Fisher will showcase the new Thermo Scientific TSX ultra-low temperature (ULT) freezer, which uses only natural refrigerants and employs technology that consumes up to 50 percent less energy than conventional laboratory freezers. It is designed to offer a more sustainable cold storage solution including lower power consumption, reduced noise and higher efficiency while maintaining sample integrity.

Integrating Techniques for Materials Identification and Characterization

Thermo Fisher is committed to expanding its range of laboratory technologies available for industrial applications. Portable analytical instruments, including the new Thermo Scientific Niton XL5 Analyzer, offer increased levels of speed and accuracy, and are lighter weight for field-based elemental analysis. In addition, the new Thermo Scientific DXR2xi Raman imaging microscope provides accessibility to researchers and technicians alike, delivering accurate chemical image results.

Thermo Fisher delivers its unique value proposition by giving customers access to the industry’s broadest offering of products through its world-class e-commerce platforms. Thermofisher.com remains the most trusted source for scientific content, and application and workflow information supporting a leading portfolio of self-manufactured products.
