We're glad to hear that physician-users of athenaClinicals are confident their product can deliver the goods. But really, is this worthy of a press release?

The information made available by KLAS for free didn't reveal whether any EHR in its study actually passed all 25 of the HHS certification criteria. I suppose if I paid for that, I could get the answer. Then again, I think I already know.

Look, it isn’t about how confident your users are, or how many issues an EHR vendor needs to solve before qualifying for a Gold Star from HHS. It only matters how quickly an EHR vendor can pulls it all off. One would think a nimble organization with a well-designed platform could move pretty quickly in this regard. Then again, one would think a well-managed big company with money to burn can do the same with an aggressive acquisition strategy and just generally throwing its weight around. In this regard, we'll be quite interested to see subsequent press releases from Athena.

    Thank you,
