A tentative agreement has been reached
between the Professional Association of Residents of British Columbia
(PAR-BC) and the Health Employers Association of British Columbia
(HEABC).
The tentative four-year deal brings BC more in line with other provinces
and addresses key issues raised by residents. Improvements include:
occupational health and safety language to ensure adequate access to
care; an additional day to attend the birth of a child; flex days; and
the ability to claim tax credits for professional liability.
The PAR-BC collective agreement expired on March 31, 2010, and the
Bargaining Team are pleased to announce that all enhancements of the
proposed contract were agreed to within the public sector bargaining
mandates.
Specific details of the agreement will be available pending the
ratification by the PAR-BC members, which is expected to conclude by
the end of October 2012.
