The largest UK national event reports 25 per cent growth in companies participating in the 2014 exhibition

The UK's flagship event for health and safety is on course for a remarkable year as the event is nearing a sell out with more than five months to go. Currently, more than 300 companies will gather from 17-19 June at the London ExCeL for the Safety & Health Expo, part of UBM Live's Protection & Management Series.

"Companies are going big this year with the average size of exhibition stand up 30 per cent, and overall space up by 25 per cent," said Heather Beach, event director.

She added: "With the Expo, the IOSH 2014 Conference, RoSPA Awards, LiftEx and a new Energy and Environment Expo all taking place under one roof, companies looking to meet decision makers within health and safety are placing a safe bet with us."

Big hitters confirmed for the event include Arco, BM Polyco, Draeger, Fleet21, Speedy, Alere Toxicology and Ikar. Show partners, IOSH, BSIF and RoSPA, will also have a big presence on the show floor, including product innovation and networking.

The event is part of the Protection & Management Series, which includes other major industry shows FIREX, IFSEC, Facilities Show, Service Management Expo and the Energy & Environment Expo. In total, 45,000 people are expected to attend over the three days, making it one of the major business events of the year.

Part of the decision to move the event from Birmingham's NEC to London was to attract more international involvement. This is already coming to fruition with 20 per cent of exhibitors being international companies. Show organisers have secured discounted rates on flights into London City airport, with UK transport providers such as Virgin and TfL and with hotels around ExCeL and in the heart of London.

Alongside the IOSH conference, which offers some high-profile international speakers this year discussing leadership, the Safety & Health Expo offers a completely free, CPD accredited and fully comprehensive educational programme covering a breadth of industry issues from the latest legislation updates to practical insights on behavioural safety, working at height, occupational hygiene and business driver safety. The programme will be announced in early March.
