Hong Kong's Centre for Health Protection Controller Dr Leung Pak-yin led a delegation to Bangkok to attend the 15th International AIDS Conference jointly organised by the International AIDS Society and Thailand's Ministry of Public Health.

The conference is the largest and most important global forum on AIDS. Medical professionals and AIDS experts from all parts the world will make use of this occasion to exchange views and share their experiences on AIDS prevention and control.

The conference was held annually between 1985 and 1994 and became a biennial event in 1994.

The Hong Kong delegation will give several presentations including clinical research on AIDS, care of HIV/AIDS patients, and public education during the conference.
