Sentillion, Inc., the leading provider of identity and access management (IAM) solutions for the always-on healthcare industry, has received its third patent (U.S. Patent No. 6,993,556) from the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The patent relates to technology for the dynamic configuration and administration of a context management system, enabling a sophisticated solution to the real-time needs of a mission critical context management solution for the always-on healthcare market. Sentillion's Vergence Administrator tool, created for use by IT systems administrators, is a core component of its Vergence(R) Context Manager solution, which among other capabilities allows a caregiver to easily and rapidly view information on a single patient in multiple applications.

Vergence Context Manager enables healthcare organizations to improve caregiver workflow, decrease administrative time, and address other critical healthcare issues. Context Manager enables caregivers to select a patient in one application and immediately view corresponding patient records in all other applications. Sentillion customers have reported significant gains in productivity with Context Manager, such as reducing the time to access patient information by 85%. This patent recognizes the innovative technology that Sentillion has incorporated into its system tooling, making it uniquely practical and feasible for healthcare organizations to effectively and efficiently deploy and then manage Vergence Context Manager.

"Our latest patent validates and protects a critical underpinning of our Vergence IAM solution," said Robert Seliger, CEO of Sentillion. "The continual investment in and expansion of our intellectual property portfolio is essential to our leadership in the IAM market and our delivery of innovative and effective solutions to our more than 153,000 live users. We have a robust pipeline of patents, and expect to be announcing additional patent awards throughout 2006 and beyond."

Sentillion currently holds two additional patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, including one (No. 6,941,313) for its unique context management technology with advanced audit capabilities and another (No. 6,971,067) on its technology that optimizes caregiver productivity by providing a unified, ever-present user interface for the uniform control of multiple software programs.

Sentillion's identity and access management products help healthcare provider organizations meet their urgent need for patient safety and privacy, streamlined workflows, regulatory compliance, and protection of data and information sources. Sentillion's Vergence product suite enables organizations to know who their users are -- identity management -- and to help them be productive while ensuring system security and guarding patient confidentiality -- access management.
