BrainLAB has signed a contract with Singapore Health Services (SingHealth), the largest healthcare group in Singapore, for the establishment of the world's first fully digital neuroscience center at Singapore General Hospital (SGH), one of Asia's leading teaching hospitals.

The double-digit million-dollar project covers the installation of a five-suite operating facility to be set up in the next 12 months.

For the first time, a comprehensive range of the latest technologies in healthcare will be available in one location, digitally integrated to provide clinicians with effective access to and intelligent management of digital medical information. From diagnostics through treatment, this new infrastructure will provide clinicians with timely information and more treatment options, resulting in better-informed medical decisions, and the ability to seamlessly combine multiple treatments.

This full embodiment of the BrainLAB vision will set new standards and therefore transform the whole company.

As the first in the world, Singapore General Hospital will be the reference center for the patented "Intelligent Treatment Framework(TM)," which will integrate individual BrainLAB technologies in a unique framework. The five-suite facility will set new standards for the comprehensive approach to cancer care as well as in neurosurgery, otolaryngology (ear, nose & throat) and orthopedic surgery in terms of clinical results and overall cost effectiveness. In the fully integrated operating rooms with real-time high quality intra-operative Magnetic Resonance Imaging (iMRI), Computed Tomography (iCT) scanning, and advanced image-guidance navigation system capabilities, surgeons will be able to intra-operatively monitor progress and perform more complicated surgeries with less time required and improved patient outcomes.

In the field of cancer care, the Novalis(R) Shaped Beam Surgery system adds the option of highly precise radiosurgery and radiotherapy, helping the hospital to ensure that it will be able to provide each patient with the best possible treatment outcomes and improved quality of life.

Connecting all the operating suites is a network-based data management solution providing full control of all available patient data from a single touchscreen interface. The BrainLAB planning system for remote planning of procedures gives surgeons greater flexibility.

"We are very happy that SGH is the first hospital in the world to install an Intelligent Treatment Framework, making it a true showcase of the hospital of the future. The fully digital neuroscience center will help them achieve a new level of integration and patient care that leverages on medical expertise and the most advanced digital technology for better clinical outcome. This embodiment of the entire BrainLAB vision will set new standards and therefore transform our whole company," commented Stefan Vilsmeier, CEO of BrainLAB.
