Navitus Health Solutions, LLC announced today it has signed contracts to provide pharmacy benefits to three government trusts in Arizona. The contracts are with the Arizona Local Government Employee Benefit Trust (AZLGEBT), Rural Arizona Group Health Trust (RAGHT) and the Cochise Combined Trust. Together, the trusts include 16 groups (seven municipalities, seven counties and two school systems). All of the contracts went into effect on July 1.

These new clients are Navitus’ first in Arizona and are part of the company’s national growth strategy. Navitus’ ability to deliver significant savings with high-touch customer service is quickly gaining exposure in the western U.S. and nationally.

"In this struggling economy, it is more important today than ever before to help employers pay the least amount for their prescription drugs and for employees to be able to receive the clinically appropriate medications they need to maintain the health of themselves and their families. Navitus delivers on both accounts, with evidence-based drug product selection and full pass-through pricing,” said Byron Mickle, Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Analytics for Navitus.

In addition to core PBM programs, Navitus will provide specialty pharmacy services for all of the trusts, which will help manage high cost/injectable drugs. Navitus’ specialty pharmacy program is designed to provide the highest level of member service possible and to reduce costs.

Erin Collins, President of Erin P. Collins & Associates, Inc. (the consulting firm used by the Arizona Trusts), comments on this recent partnership: “We have high hopes that our clients’ partnership with Navitus, and their fully transparent and pass-through model, will allow our clients to gain long-needed control over prescription drug spend in an ever-tightening market for health care benefits.”
