Satellite Healthcare, one of the nation's first and leading providers of kidney dialysis services and a major sponsor of nephrology research, today announced the recipients of the 2009 Norman S. Coplon Extramural Grant Program. Recipients of these annual grants are young scientists at leading universities and medical centers in the United States and Canada who are pursuing innovative kidney disease research projects.

"Awarding these yearly grants is very exciting for everyone, the recipients as well as the staff here at Satellite Healthcare," said Dr. John Moran, Senior Vice President of Clinical Affairs for Satellite Healthcare and WellBound. "Kidney disease affects more than 26 million Americans, with another 20 million at risk of developing the disease over their lifetime. Our intention is to empower the best and brightest of researchers."
