The 2009 National Pharmacy Study ranks Prescription Solutions second among mail order pharmacies

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

Prescription Solutions, a leading pharmacy benefits management (PBM) organization and a UnitedHealth Group (NYSE:UNH) company, today announced that it received the highest rankings for customer service and cost competitiveness factors among mail order pharmacies in the J.D. Power and Associates 2009 National Pharmacy StudySM.

Prescription Solutions ranked second overall among mail order pharmacies, and was one of only two mail order pharmacies to receive all five Power Circles – which equates to “among the best” for the overall experience on JDPower.com.

“Knowing our members rate us highest in customer service and cost competitiveness is a testament to the hard work of all our employees and our ongoing efforts to keep health care affordable,” said Edward M. Feaver, Pharm. D. president of Prescription Solutions.

“Our advanced mail order technology, combined with meticulous customer service, enables us to fill orders faster and more affordably. Licensed pharmacists check each prescription multiple times to ensure accuracy and safety,” said Dr. Feaver.

In addition to 24/7 availability of pharmacists for counseling and a convenient ordering process, Prescription Solutions’ mail service pharmacy employs a number of clinical programs to help ensure members take their drugs safely and correctly.

The 2009 National Pharmacy Study is based on responses from 12,215 customers who filled a new prescription or refilled a prescription during the three months prior to the survey period. The Web-based study was fielded May through June 2009. Five factors are measured in the mail-order segment. In addition to cost competitiveness and customer service, are ordering convenience, delivery convenience and medication availability and information.
