Bayer Corporation in Working Mother magazine's 100 best companies list

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

Bayer Corporation has again been recognized by Working Mother magazine as one of the nation's 100 best companies for working mothers. This is the seventh time Bayer has appeared on the annual list.

“It is an honor to once again be named to the Working Mother 100 Best list,” said Greg Babe, President and CEO of Bayer Corporation. “Bayer places a priority on work-life balance, and this includes providing initiatives and programs that allow working parents to succeed on the job and at home.”

All companies were measured and evaluated on seven areas of work/life criteria, including women’s issues and advancement, child care, company culture, flexible work arrangements, benefits, workforce profile, parental leave and other work/life programs.

Bayer was honored for its 29 family friendly programs, benefits, care giving programs and company culture. Bayer also received high marks for its health and wellness programs, availability of flexible work arrangements and its comprehensive Work-Life Resource & Referral and Employee Assistance programs.

The Working Mother recognition is one of several from national and local organizations that Bayer has received, including the prestigious Catalyst Award for leadership in establishing innovative programs to prepare women and people of color with the critical skills necessary to advance to senior positions.

Methodology

Working Mother's selection methodology is based on an extensive application with more than 500 questions. The application checks the usage, availability and tracking of programs and the accountability of managers who oversee them. Seven areas are measured and scored: workforce profile; compensation; child care; flexibility; time off and leaves; family friendly programs; company culture; and other work/life programs. For this year’s 100 Best, particular weight was given to benefits, flexibility and parental leave.
