On Monday, President Obama will meet with doctors from across the country who support his health reform. Former head of the American Medical Association and the current spokesman for the Coalition to Protect Patients’ Rights (Coalition), Dr. Donald Palmisano, is available to discuss why the White House should open the debate to the tens of thousands of doctors in America who oppose a government takeover of medicine.
Dr. Palmisano today made the following statement:
“Our Coalition is made up of over 10,000 well-respected doctors from across the country who have been active in their local communities, talked to their patients and met with their Members of Congress with bipartisan solutions on health reform. But we weren’t invited to the White House. Has the President asked only doctors who support his views to come to Washington and meet with him about healthcare reform? If so, he is missing a tremendous opportunity. A government run healthcare system will lead to long waiting lines, substandard care, and an end to medical innovation.”
