Windsor Place of Wilmington, a premier assisted living residence for seniors, announced today that it will welcome residents this month. Windsor Place has 87 distinctive luxury suites. A portion are designated for individuals with memory impairment due to Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. Windsor Place is located at 92 West Street, Wilmington, Mass. (just minutes from Interstates 93 and 95) and on the same campus as Woodbriar Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center.

“Windsor Place was built with the needs and desires of today’s discerning retirees in mind. Retiring well begins with living each day well. The social, cultural, and educational activities of Windsor Place will provide our residents with many options to pursue their passions and enjoy life,” said Dennis Sargent, developer and executive director of Windsor Place. “An attentive, discreet staff will provide a comfortable and gracious lifestyle for seniors who no longer want the responsibility of maintaining a house or who may need help from time to time.”

A U.S. Census Bureau report released in June 2009 forecasts a 40 percent increase in the senior population in the United States over the next five years as nearly 15 million baby boomers aged 60-64 reach retirement age. In the northeast, people 65 and over comprise 13.7 percent of the population. Wan He, a demographer in the Census Bureau Population Division, told Senior Journal in June that “this shift in the age structure of the world’s population poses challenges to society, families, businesses, health care providers and policymakers to meet the needs of aging individuals.”

“I chose to live at Windsor Place of Wilmington to be close to my husband who resides next door at Woodbriar,” said Joyce Duff. “I want to see him as much as possible while also getting the help I need,” continued Duff. “Windsor Place is absolutely beautiful and offers so many modern conveniences that will make my life so much easier.”

Windsor Place provides care to meet changing needs.

Windsor Place offers a continuum of care to residents. In addition to assisted living apartments where several levels of housekeeping, personal care and medication management services are available, Windsor Place offers specialized, comprehensive help for residents with advanced needs. Suites at The Carlysle at Windsor Place have enhanced features and programs designed for residents with memory impairment resulting from Alzheimers’ and related disorders. Rehabilitation and skilled nursing care is also available nearby at Woodbriar of Wilmington. Woodbriar is operated by the Paino family and Dennis and Elissa Sargent, the same family that developed and manages Windsor Place.

Windsor Place offers distinctive amenities.

Windsor Place boasts an elegant interior and creative landscape design with three outdoor courtyards. Classic color palettes with rich details, including dramatic columns and fireplaces, are the hallmark of the common areas. Individual residences are offered in a variety of comfortable floor plans to accommodate individual tastes and personal furnishings. Manicured gardens and accessible footpaths offer options for outdoor living and socializing. State-of-the-art technology ensures that personal assistance is available around the clock. The result is a refined, accommodating and secure community.

Windsor Place has an inviting multi-media room and wireless internet access to satisfy the entertainment and communications requirements of 21st century seniors. A richly appointed library, stylish living room, country kitchen, fitness area, beauty salon, and a cocktail lounge are among its amenities. A talented culinary team serves imaginative and nutritious meals in the elegant main dining room.

Assisted living can provide peace of mind.

“I would never have considered assisted living of any kind had it not been for the experienced care, friendship, and emotional support that the staff at Woodbriar provided to me and my ailing wife,” said Geno James. “When I visited Windsor Place it just felt like home to me and I knew that I would be surrounded by the same kind of dedicated staff and familiar management that I got to know through my daily visits to Woodbriar,” added James. “Now, I just can’t wait to leave all the maintenance responsibilities at my eight-room house and experience the benefits of easier living in a community-oriented setting.”
