Sportline, the brand leader in personal fitness monitoring, has announced the official launch and availability of its DUO series heart rate monitors.

DUO is the company’s latest and most innovative line of heart rate monitors which present wearers with a unique option when it comes to tracking their exercise intensity and effectiveness -- the choice to monitor their heart rate continuously or on demand.

Among DUO's most advanced features is its revolutionary ability to function with or without a chest belt. Wearers now have the option to use the chest belt during nonstop sports such as running, cycling or swimming, where continuous heart rate monitoring is generally preferred. However, for other fitness activities where continuous heart rate monitoring is not necessary, and where a chest belt can become a burden, wearers may simply remove the belt and touch gently on DUO’s stainless steel case for immediate ECG-accurate readings.

Available in three affordable models - DUO 1010 ($69.99), DUO 1025 ($89.99), DUO 1060 ($119.99) - the DUO series features first-of-its-kind innovations in watch design and functionality, and every model is engineered to help wearers consistently monitor the effectiveness of all their fitness activities.

“DUO was designed around the way people actually exercise. The new line offers a consumer-centric alternative for those who haven’t incorporated heart rate monitoring into their fitness routine, or who seek a more versatile solution to what’s currently on the market,” says Dan Kinsbourne, vice president of marketing for Sportline. "Traditional heart rate monitors turn into ordinary sport watches without the presence of a chest belt. DUO is different because it easily converts to an on-demand heart rate monitor once the belt is removed. Now people can choose what degree of exercise feedback they want based on the activity they plan to do."

Each model in the DUO series features Sportline's patent-pending Any-Touch Technology, which allows the wearer to simply touch anywhere on the DUO’s steel watch case to display an ECG-accurate heart rate reading. Another advanced feature exclusive to the DUO 1025 and DUO 1060 is Sportline's Intelli-Track technology. Through Intelli-Track, wearers are able to utilize a visual indicator displayed around the perimeter of the watch face that tracks their actual heart rate in relation to their defined target heart rate zone.

Sportline's entire DUO line is available for purchase from a variety of sporting good retailers throughout the country, as well as at www.Sportline.com.

Individuals who purchase DUO also benefit from the recently announced marketing and licensing partnership between EB Brands Holdings, the parent company to Sportline, and Rodale Inc. Included is a one-year free digital subscription to Runner’s World Magazine.
