Keeping Small Business Healthy President Andrew Langer issued the following statement today on the new jobs numbers and the House of Representatives health care reform legislation:

"Unemployment has hit double digits and continues to climb, and still Democrat Leaders turn a deaf ear. Instead of trying to help the engine of our economy, the small business owner, Speaker Pelosi is forcing the House to vote on health care reform legislation which not only stifles small business growth, but will also result in the loss of existing small business jobs.

"Small business owners will be watching the votes of House Members tomorrow. A vote for the public option is a slap in the face of small business owners and employees across the county. Small business owners account for the majority of new jobs in this country every year.

"President Obama and Congress should be doing everything they can to cut the red tape and mandates small business face. This isn't just about keeping small business healthy; it's about keeping small business alive."
