An executive from the Verizon Connected Healthcare Solutions practice group will participate in a panel discussion at the World Health Congress Leadership Summit on Health Information Technology on Nov. 9 in Alexandria. The panel will discuss key challenges facing the health care industry in addressing emerging security and privacy compliance measures related to the 2009 Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 and how health care organizations can help improve quality of care through electronic medical records.
