NYSSA’s market forecast luncheon to include a focus on healthcare

The New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA) will present their biannual market forecast luncheon “Market Forecast: Return to Prosperity or False Dawn?” on January 7, 2010 which will include a special focus on healthcare. A panel of experts will discuss and debate the various crosscurrents in economic and financial market conditions facing investors.

The panel includes these experts: Daniel Clifton, partner, head of policy research, Strategas Research Partners LLC; Damien Conover, CFA, senior equity analyst, equities strategist, and editor of Morningstar Healthcare Observer, Morningstar, Inc.; David Malpass, president, Encima Global; Christian Menegatti, head of global economic research, Roubini Global Economics; and Savita Subramanian, head of U.S. quantitative strategy, Bank of America Securities/Merrill Lynch.

Daniel Clifton is a partner and the head of Strategas Research Partners’ DC office. He directs its legislative and public policy research efforts. Prior to joining Strategas, he served as executive director of the American Shareholders Association (ASA), a non-partisan, non-profit organization which analyzes public policy affecting shareholders.

Damien Conover, CFA, is a senior equity analyst for Morningstar, covering the pharmaceutical industry. He is also an equities strategist and editor of Morningstar Healthcare Observer. Prior to joining Morningstar in 2007, Conover was an equity research analyst covering the healthcare sector for Raymond James, Bank of Montreal, and Gerard Klauer Mattison.

David Malpass is president of Encima Global, an economic research and consulting firm serving institutional investors and corporate clients. His work provides insight and analysis on global economic and political trends, with investment research spanning equities, fixed income, commodities and currencies.
