U.S.
HealthWorks Medical Group, a leading operator of occupational health
and urgent care centers in the nation, today announced the acquisition
of four of the five HealthForce Occupational Medicine centers in
Seattle, WA. This acquisition increases the footprint of U.S.
HealthWorks to 17 medical centers in the state of Washington and 128
nationwide.
The medical centers located in Tukwila, Everett, Paine Field, and
Seattle are occupational
health facilities focused on providing injury and illness diagnosis
and treatment, preventive services, pre-placement and post-offer exams
and testing, and return-to-work programs. Terms of the transaction,
completed December 18, 2009, were not disclosed. (The HealthForce
Medical Center in Bellevue and their worksite services division remain
independently owned and were not acquired by U.S. HealthWorks.)
Andy Parker, M.D., U.S. HealthWorks Senior Vice President Operations,
Northwest Division, said “We are excited by this latest addition to the
U.S. HealthWorks family. The Puget Sound market is an important one for
us and we believe the acquisition of these highly-regarded medical
centers and the addition of their staff enhances our position as the
leading operator of occupational health and urgent care centers in
Washington.”
Jack Siemering, President & CEO of HealthForce Occupational Medicine,
said, “As we focus on bringing health services to employees through our
Worksite Division, we are pleased to find a good steward for these
important occupational medicine clinics. Our current team of physicians
and staff in Seattle, Tukwila, Everett and Paine Field will continue
their great work with an experienced leadership team at U.S.
HealthWorks, so the patients and employers who patronize these clinics
will be in good hands.”
