ThinIdentity Corporation, a leader in improving clinician workflow in healthcare environments, today announced that it has delivered their 3,000th( ) production license since the official launch of the company on March 23, 2009. During the prior 9 months, 10 hospitals, ranging in size from 200 bed local hospitals to large multi-state systems with over 13,000 beds, have turned to ThinIdentity for its Clinical Virtual Desktop solution.

ThinIdentity has used its unique patent pending middleware technology to efficiently and seamlessly integrate stateless Thin Client technology into the demanding environment of the clinical workspaces. A few of the benefits of the solution seen by the clinicians are reduced login times, typically under 5 seconds, dynamic printer updating based on location, and in many cases reduced medscan overrides.

"As hospitals strive to implement the directives that have recently been established around the Electronic Medical Record ("EMR") and Computer Physician Order Entry ("CPOE"), we try to help them by removing one of the primary barriers to entry with the clinician which is long login times" said Joe Jaudon, CTO and Founder of ThinIdentity. "Our solution allows the Clinician to easily move from room to room or location to location with his or her "desktop" following along and almost immediately accessible."

"Utilizing industry standards such as Microsoft Remote Desktop Services®, Citrix XenApp/ XenDesktop®, or VMware View®, our ThinIdentity middleware solution is the critical component that allows the stateless Thin Client desktop to integrate with the legacy clinical applications such as the clinical data repository, medication administration application, or even some medical devices. Our goal as a company from the very beginning has been to use Virtual Desktop technology to improve the clinician experience, help reduce medical errors, and drive enhancements that advance the quality of patient care," stated Jaudon.

The ThinIdentity solution provides great benefits for the IT Staff as well. With cost of healthcare under constant scrutiny, implementing the ThinIdentity stateless Thin Client based solution can dramatically reduce the total cost of ownership ("TCO") in the clinical environment. With a refresh cycle of 8 to 10 years, energy reduction of over 70% vs. a standard PC, and a typical support ratio of 1:1500 vs. 1:400, the savings realized are substantial.

"The adoption rate we are seeing of our technology is impressive," said Roy Perry, CEO of ThinIdentity. "We are looking forward to 2010 with great anticipation. We believe our solution can make a significant impact for our customers."
