Verizon Business to provide secure private IP network for Eurofins Scientific

Verizon Business will provide a secure private IP network for Eurofins Scientific, a global leader in bio-analysis.

Under a three-year extension of an existing relationship, Verizon Business will securely connect 16 key Eurofins laboratories and research centers in Europe, Asia and the U.S. with the company's global customer base.  Verizon will use MPLS (multi-protocol label switching) to provide Eurofins with a unified, IP-based network – Verizon Private IP -- that can support VoIP (voice over IP) as well as unified communications to boost collaboration and productivity.

Eurofins provides comprehensive analytical-testing services for the pharmaceutical, food and environmental sectors, and employs more than 8,000 staff in 150 laboratories across 30 countries. The company is converging its global voice and data communications to a single network to achieve both cost and management efficiencies.

Eurofins particularly wanted a secure global communications infrastructure with enhanced capacity to support data-intensive information exchange and real-time data-backup services. The company also wanted a network that is scalable and flexible enough to support ongoing growth. Quality of service, supported by stringent service-level agreements, was particularly important since Eurofin's reputation is built on its ability to quickly and securely handle time-sensitive analytical test data.

Jean-Pierre Munier, group IT infrastructure manager at Eurofins Scientific, said: "We have been working with Verizon Business since 2006, and throughout our relationship the Verizon Business team has excelled in its ability to fully understand our business. The team is really part of our team, and their experience, skill and expertise is critical in helping us to maximize the potential of our technology to support our business growth."
