US Oncology, Inc., the nation's premier oncology services company supporting the nation's largest network including more than 1,300 oncologists and more than 10,000 clinicians and cancer experts to advance cancer care in America, was honored on Feb. 6, by Texas Governor Rick Perry at the Texas vs. the Nation All-Star Football Challenge in El Paso, Texas. US Oncology was honored as an inaugural inductee to the Governor's Business Hall of Fame along with Baker Hughes, Bell Helicopter, and Texas Instruments.

"US Oncology is an innovator and a leader in advancing high quality, cost-effective cancer care," says Bruce Broussard, Chairman and CEO of US Oncology. "We are honored to receive such accolades from the Governor's office for the business acumen we have brought to the great state of Texas and across the nation. Through a wide range of services and collaborations involving research, technology, advocacy and the use of evidence-based medicine pathways, physicians affiliated with US Oncology provide top quality care to more than 720,000 patients a year."

According to the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas is the only top 10 state with more jobs today than three years ago when the American economy started to slow, and in November 2009, Texas had the largest employment increase for the second straight month.

"Texas has a culture that celebrates business success. The companies and the people we honored through the Governor's Inaugural Business Hall of Fame have paved the way for a fertile business environment and a prosperous future in the state of Texas." Said Governor Perry.
