Energetiq Technology launches new LDLS light sources for advanced technology applications

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

Energetiq Technology, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of specialized light sources for advanced technology applications, will introduce its Laser-Driven Light Source (LDLS™) product family to the largest gathering of biophysicists in the world at the Biophysical Society 54th Annual Meeting in San Francisco, February 21-23, 2010. The LDLS light sources are well suited to challenging applications such as advanced circular dichroism spectroscopy, stopped-flow spectroscopy, and fluorescence spectroscopy.

With Energetiq's LDLS technology, a single light source embodied in the EQ-1000, EQ-1500, EQ-1510, or EQ-99 can provide extreme high brightness over a broad spectral range, from 170nm through visible and beyond. This ability to cover the complete spectrum makes it an economical and efficient alternative to using traditional lamps. Xenon-arc, Deuterium, and Tungsten/Halogen lamps each cover only a portion of the spectrum covered by the LDLS light sources, and their use of electrodes limits their ability to achieve the high brightness, stable output and long life that is necessary for the study of biological and molecular structures.

The proprietary laser-driven bulb technology utilized in the LDLS product family allows for bulb brightness and lifetimes that are an order of magnitude higher and longer than these traditional lamps. Excellent spatial and power stability of the LDLS EQ Series enables highly repeatable measurements over long periods of operation, and compact packaging allows for easy integration.
