Health Net and Stanford University team up to provide healthcare benefits for students

Health Net of California, Inc. announced today a partnership with Stanford University to provide health benefits to the university’s undergraduate and graduate students, effective September 1, 2010.

Health Net replaces Aetna, Inc. as the administrator of Cardinal Care, Stanford’s comprehensive medical and prescription benefits health plan. Approximately, 8,000 students are enrolled in Cardinal Care, which complements services provided on campus at the Vaden Health Center.

New for the 2010-2011 school year, the university will offer a health plan for the spouses, domestic partners and children of Stanford students. This plan will be administered by Health Net Life Insurance Company.
