Tranzyme Pharma receives BioQuébec's 2010 Genesis Award for "Innovation"

Tranzyme Pharma, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, announced today that the Company has been awarded BioQuébec's 2010 Genesis Award for "Innovation", having demonstrated strong and proven innovation in the field of life sciences.

The award, sponsored by Goudreau Gage Dubuc, was presented to Helmut Thomas, PhD, DABT, Tranzyme's Senior Vice President of Research and Preclinical Development, and Mark L. Peterson, PhD, Tranzyme's Vice President of Intellectual Property and Operations, at a ceremony on June 2, 2010 in Montreal, Canada.

"We are very pleased to have received this prestigious award in recognition of the value and innovative power of our unique small-molecule macrocyclic template chemistry technology that has spawned two first-in-class drug candidates in advanced clinical development, a number of successful preclinical programs, as well as an important discovery collaboration with a major international pharmaceutical company," said Dr. Thomas.
