MEDSEEK, the industry's only provider of the eHealth ecoSystemTM, today announced its engagement to develop and deploy the University of South Alabama Health System's new consumer website in a first step toward implementing the eHealth ecoSystem.

“From the first meeting, we were impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the MEDSEEK team”

MEDSEEK will work toward a fall 2010 launch date for a revitalized web presence for the healthcare system, which will serve as the organization's primary connection to its patients and the community. "We have reallocated our marketing resources from printed telephone directories and print publications in favor of our website initiatives," said Daniel Rickert, director of marketing & business development for the USA Health System. "Our goal is to use this online tool to educate the community and engage our existing patients by providing relevant health information, seminars and access to other hospital information."

"As the only academic health system for south Alabama, coastal Mississippi and the panhandle of Florida, USA Health System has an enormous responsibility to engage students, physicians and patients throughout the region and beyond," said Peter Kuhn, CEO of MEDSEEK. "They have made a significant commitment to use eHealth technology to enhance and improve the quality of health care in south Alabama, and MEDSEEK is proud to support their efforts with our eHealth ecoSystem."

USA Health System plans to build on its MEDSEEK relationship as the core of its future eHealth initiatives. "We chose MEDSEEK to develop and deploy our new website because its eHealth ecoSystem will ultimately provide a solid foundation for us to implement our web communication strategy, including a patient portal with secure patient access to their own healthcare information," said Rickert.

"From the first meeting, we were impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the MEDSEEK team," Rickert continued. "Our due diligence simply reinforced our first impression and made our decision very simple."
