MediConnect Global Inc. today announced its popular consumer web-based personal health record (PHR) system is now compatible with a wide array of mobile devices including the iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and most Google Android and HP/Palm WebOS smartphones.
“More smartphones are sold today than laptop computers”
myMediConnect (formerly PassportMD) is one of only four PHR systems chosen by the Obama administration to participate in the current Medicare PHR pilot program. myMediConnect was created to manage and integrate multiple aspects of an individual's health and wellbeing—including tools to import medical records, become better educated and informed about healthcare issues, track progress towards personal fitness goals, connect more easily with physicians, effectively research HSA providers, and save money on medications.
"More smartphones are sold today than laptop computers," said MediConnect Global CEO Amy Rees Anderson. "As mobile devices become more robust and capable, our products will evolve to stay on top of usage and behavior trends in order to empower myMediConnect users with the flexibility to better manage their health how, when and where they want."
myMediConnect mobile device users benefit from convenient access to personal health record information on-the-go for personal use, and can easily share medical history information with a physician. Members also enjoy the ability to quickly look up medications taken previously, for example while standing in line waiting to consult with a pharmacist.
MediConnect Global provides medical records services including retrieving patient records, effectively organizing and digitizing collected data, and then providing it to users in a safe, HIPAA-compliant online environment. myMediConnect consumer users have the unique advantage of being able to utilize MediConnect Global's vast medical record retrieval and digitization services to build their personal health records more easily and effectively.
