DenteMax, the nation's largest seamless dental PPO network, now also offers the largest seamless network approved for Medicare dental benefits. The new network provides access to more than 65,000 approved dentist access points and is built on the strong foundation of the commercial DenteMax network.
“While there are no set CMS guidelines for dental networks, DenteMax has gone the extra mile and applied CMS requirements for medical doctors to the dentists in our network. The end result is the largest, seamless Medicare dental network”
"Dental insurers and third party benefit administrators can feel confident about leasing our new network, as it offers their members access, savings and complies with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services," said Melissa Wagner, vice president of sales and marketing.
Approximately 23 percent of adults 65 and older have not been to the dentist in the last 5 years and about half of all adults 65 and older have been to the dentist within the past year. The new network provides access, a crucial part of implementing the medical dental link, for older adults.
Good oral health can help prevent complications with overall health problems, which is particularly important as people age. Conditions such as diabetes and heart disease are increasingly more common with older adults. In addition, such chronic conditions are linked to periodontal disease.
As a quality dental network manager, DenteMax credentials all of its network dentists through a National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and URAC (Utilization Review Accreditation Commission) Accredited Credentials Verification Organization (CVO). Medicare providers meet these extensive requirements and are also subject to additional credentialing per CMS.
"While there are no set CMS guidelines for dental networks, DenteMax has gone the extra mile and applied CMS requirements for medical doctors to the dentists in our network. The end result is the largest, seamless Medicare dental network," said Mike Miller vice president of dental networks.
