Product launch on 5th August

Local ice cream entrepreneur Nathan Heron's popular ice cream concession on Blackpool's famous South Pier will see the launch of a world first - Omega Ice Creams. 'Blackpool is the world's No.1 ice cream eating city.' says Nathan, 'And I love coming up with new ideas - and making a great summer treat like an ice cream healthier with a squeeze of Omega-3 sauce is a great idea!'

Nathan has teamed up with another local business, Healthy and Essential, based in Poulton-Le-Fylde to launch the Omega Ice Cream, saying 'I knew Omega-3 was really healthy and particularly good for kids and it got me thinking! I'd read about Healthy and Essential and their new Omega-3 food, Taste. I got in touch, sampled the product on one of my ice creams, and realised it was a brilliant combination. And healthier than just eating an ice cream on its own.'

Nathan comments I'm going to give away 200 free Omega Ice Creams - and I'm predicting satisfied smiles, lots of interest and lengthy queues.'

Healthy and Essential boss Ramsay McLellan continues 'We've tested the idea on kids, and they love it. They have no idea that the Taste we squeeze onto the ice cream is good for them, because it's so delicious. The big surprise is, Taste is made from fish and flax oil, contains loads of Omega-3 and is really really good for you.'

The product, IdealOmega Taste is being marketed as a superfood designed to get more Omega-3 into people's diets. Omega-3 has a whole host of benefits, like helping to maintain healthy hearts, minds and boost the immune system. However, children and adults alike find it delicious.
