The American Red Cross of Greater Cleveland announced today its Hero Award Luncheon, presented by PNC and proudly supported by Adcom Communications, the Cleveland Browns and Fifth Third. The event, co-chaired by Shelley Seifert, Executive Vice President, PNC and Mike Holmgren, President, the Cleveland Browns, will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel. It honors everyday heroes from the community in five categories: Life Saver, Educational, Medical, Community Volunteer and Innovation.

This year, the Greater Cleveland Red Cross, in partnership with Adcom Communications, has launched a Hero Challenge website, www.clevelandheroes.com, where the community may nominate heroes, vote for the nominees and see the winners, purchase tickets and learn more about the Red Cross. Nominations are being accepted now through midnight September 10th by visiting www.clevelandheroes.com.

Mohamed Massaquoi, wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns, is leading the Hero Challenge. While many Clevelanders rise up in support of those in need following a disaster, every day there are heroes amongst us who work tirelessly to help our community.

The American Red Cross is additionally proud to recognize Paul Clark, the Regional President for PNC in Northern Ohio, as its 2010 Community Leader Award recipient.
