The main theme of this year is "Renaissance of Bioindustry". Although the world economy has not yet recovered from the impact of the global recession since the year before last year, there are signs of forthcoming activities in the bioindustry as a new stage of growth. There is no doubt that a new start of bioindustry is about to begin.
The development of biopharmaceuticals has been becoming the center of attention as well as the invention of medical devices, which includes regenerative medicine, and DDS have also been progressing actively these days in the health industry. The biotechnology will be absolutely essential for both development and production in functional food and biofuel sectors. It will also boost further growth in the environmental industry and other health-related fields.
BioJapan recognizes that biotechnology can play an important role as a fundamental technology for growth strategy in our country. The collaboration between venture-capital organizations and large enterprises from overseas as well as domestic participants will accelerate the realization of the new age of bioindustry.
