Healthland, America's market leader of healthcare information solutions for rural community and critical access hospitals, today announced it will host a live webcast as part of its ongoing commitment to provide community hospitals and affiliated clinics with tools and services to help them meet meaningful use requirements under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).

“After ARRA was passed in 2009, it has been our goal at Healthland to help rural community hospitals maneuver through the associated mandates by providing tools and services specific to their needs”

The final rule for Stage 1 Meaningful Use has now been established and the upcoming Healthland webcast will provide information about the requirements and incentive payments for FY2011. The event, Focus on the Final Rule, is a free, live webcast that will be broadcast on August, 26, 12:00-2:00pm central daylight saving time. During the event, expert panelists from McDermott Will and Emery and Eide Bailly will discuss the legal restrictions, accounting requirements, and incentive guidelines based on the final rule for meaningful use and EHR certification for rural community and critical access hospitals.

"After ARRA was passed in 2009, it has been our goal at Healthland to help rural community hospitals maneuver through the associated mandates by providing tools and services specific to their needs," said Angie Franks, Healthland Senior Vice President of Sales and Market Development. "It has been a long and complicated process and one that requires technology partners to take an active role in communicating new developments to customers, while ensuring their EHR solutions meet all upcoming requirements enabling users to qualify for incentive payments. Our new webinar series in just another resource we are providing to the rural hospital community."

Focus on the Final Rule will provide:

  • Insight into the significant changes from the proposed to the final rule and information about how the changes could affect the community hospital environment
  • Understanding about the incentive program registration and attestation process - the first step toward gaining stimulus funds
  • A clear definition of "Reasonable EHR Costs" and how it can impact incentive payments
