VCPI announces the grand opening of The Center of Excellence for Post-Acute Care EMR today at the 4th Annual Client Connections Conference.  The Center's team of experts will help providers of post-acute care accelerate the journey towards Electronic Health Records (EHR) to prepare for the competitive demands of the fully-digital, post-acute care world of 2014.

Due to an increasingly competitive market that rewards data-driven outcomes, the post-acute care industry is undergoing a rapid conversion to EMR and streamlined clinical processes. Positive outcomes will be a provider's competitive advantage and lifeline to revenues as Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) will control bundled payments.  As a result, clinical Electronic Medical Records (EMR) will be the strategic sales tool of the 21st century.  "By 2014, ACOs will shop around and award business to providers with the best outcomes related to quality, costs, and hospital readmission rates," said Dr. Kathleen Griffin, PhD, national director, post-acute and senior services for Health Dimensions Group.

The digital readiness of each client will be measured, and providers can tap into a full portfolio of services to meet the digital challenges of the 21st century.  Experts will help clients architect strategy, optimize processes, lay foundation technology, tighten security, and apply information to improve clinical outcomes that will be demanded in the ACO-driven world of outcome based revenues.  "Regardless of where clients are on the road to fully electronic operations," said Loren Claypool, vice president and managing director of VCPI, "The Center of Excellence will accelerate the execution of EMR and drive the lowest total cost of ownership."  Claypool adds, "The Center is dedicated to helping clients drive higher quality outcomes and protect revenues. Those that demonstrate superior outcomes to ACOs will enjoy better reputations, higher census, and will win a disproportionate share of regional business."
