Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC), the largest provider of health care products and services to office-based practitioners, is working with its non-governmental organization (NGO) partners – Direct Relief, International Medical Corps, Americares, and Heart to Heart – to deliver essential health care supplies to victims of the devastating floods in Pakistan, which left more than a thousand dead, an estimated four million homeless, and more than 15 million people affected.

The disaster response effort is part of Henry Schein Cares, the Company's global social responsibility program.  To aid in the immediate response to emergencies around the world, Henry Schein Cares partners with international relief organizations and ensures that these organizations consistently have Henry Schein health care products in their warehouses ready to go when disasters strike.

"Coordination of relief efforts to areas affected by disaster is essential, and we applaud the work of our NGO partners that are working with local organizations on the ground in Pakistan where health care facilities were destroyed, and ensuring that donated health care supplies are being used effectively and efficiently," said Stanley M. Bergman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Henry Schein.  "Henry Schein's work to help the people of Pakistan is part of our ongoing commitment to give back to society, which has marked our Company for nearly eight decades.  As we have grown into a multinational corporation, the scope of this responsibility has grown proportionately."

To enable Team Schein Members and others outside of the Company to support relief efforts in a coordinated way, the Company also has established a Pakistan Flood Relief Fund through the Henry Schein Cares Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.  Henry Schein will match all donations contributed to this fund by Team Schein Members, and the proceeds will be applied directly and completely to relief efforts.  Anyone wishing to contribute to this fund should make the check payable to "Henry Schein Cares Foundation" with "Pakistan Flood Relief Fund" noted in the memo of the check, and send it to Alan Cohen at Henry Schein, Inc., 135 Duryea Road, Melville, NY  11747.  Donations to the Henry Schein Cares Foundation are tax deductible in the United States.

Henry Schein Cares "helps health happen" by expanding access to care to at-risk populations through the support of communities and not-for-profit organizations dedicated to increasing preventative care, treatment, and the delivery of health education.  In addition to enhancing emergency preparedness and relief, activities supported by Henry Schein Cares focus on advancing wellness and building capacity in the delivery of health care services.  Henry Schein Cares' Global Product Donation program also provides a broad selection of health care products and supplies to approximately 100 community medical, dental, and animal health organizations in the United States.
